Members of the relations Littorinidae are one of the most generally studied gastropod molluscs and the extra questions we resolution approximately this team, the extra questions are unavoidably posed. Littorinid study spans assorted disciplines, from molecular biology, body structure, ecology, systematics and evolutionary biology to stylish anatomical reviews. The papers n this quantity mirror the present learn being conducted on littorinids, and fall into 3 extensive topics: systematics, ecology, and pollutants reports.
This publication is essentially distinctive on the examine point, whereas offering precious details for complicated first-degree scholars carrying out study projects.

The EST profiles were analysed by means of simple band counting. We: MN=9, MS=50, FN= 11, FS=85; Ws: MN= 17, MS=16, FN=23, FS = 29) and with all three factors being fixed. Macrogeographic differences in mean EST band counts were tested, using a one factor ANOVA model (random factor = population) with unequal sample size (Table 1), followed by post-hoc Sheffe tests to evaluate pairwise population means. Normality was analysed by means of a KolmogorovSmimov test, while the Levenes test for homogeneity was used to test for variance homogeneity.

Because of the complexity of the EST profiles (Figure I), it was impossible to assign the bands to 30 Table 3. 9[[8 Table 4. 0001 specific loci or to characterise the bands in an unambiguous way. Consequently, no reliable similarity indices could be calculated. In contrast to the EST, the Mb profiles of L. striata revealed no detectable variation or heterogeneity, not even between samples separated by as much as 2000 km. The Mb patterns were identical to those reported by Medeiros et aI. (1998) and consisted of several Mb fractions with relatively low isoelectric points (Figure 2).
